Lytham

Things to do in Lytham

Lytham Square and St Anne’s Square are very similar in the sense that they are both small, cute, and really give you a homey village feel. There are many independent cafes and restaurants surrounding the square full of delicious food and drinks! From seafood to milkshakes, anything you could want is right there (Find my food recommendations below)! There is also a small market, boutiques and all the usual shops full of necessities!

Lytham Windmill is located on Lytham Green, it used to be a tower mill that ground wheat and oats! Since it stopped commercial milling in 1921, the council open it up to the public during the summer. Inside it is a museum which shows the history and practice of flour milling. Further along, the Green is my favourite part, the jetty. On a sunny day, you can enjoy a peaceful walk down it all the way into the sea.

Lytham Hall is the finest Georgian house in Lancashire has a rich history that draws many people in to view the beautiful rooms and notable paintings. Within the 78 acres of parkland, there is an Animal Hub for kids with rabbits, goats and many more animals! An outdoor theatre with shows and events happening all year round.

Eating out in Lytham (Lobster Cottage)

Restaurants

  • Farina & Co 62A Clifton Street - Authentic Italian cuisine made fresh every day!
  • Olive Tree Brasserie 9 Dicconson Terrace – They have a great scheme where you can bring your own basket and have a picnic! They also have a private dining room and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are plenty of vegan options and a Greek twist to a Sunday Roast.
  • Bosco 3 Clifton Square – Renowned for their pizzas made in a wood-burning oven, perfect for a family dinner with kids, it has a really warm feel to it.
  • Lytham House Henry Street - Gluten-free and Vegan menus! Another place for a luxury dining experience! With some great cocktails to have with tapas-style food.

Cafes/Lunch

  • Zest Food & Wine Bar 21 Market Square - An excellent place for breakfast, while everyone goes for the Big English Breakfast my personal is the pancakes which are yum! They also have a lunch and Sunday Roast menu! In the evening it turns into a stunning wine bar that has outdoor seating (with heating) looking over into the square. The food and service here are really great and because of that it’s often very busy, so you should definitely book in advance!
  • Capri 4A Dicconson Terrace - They have different menus running all day but the real highlight for me is the evening! If you are looking for a fancy evening, then this is the place for you! The cocktails and atmosphere here are lovely.
  • The Queens Pub Central Beach - overlooking the Lytham Green and the beach, it’s a homey and antique-looking pub! With lots of comfort food, they have the largest and tastiest cheese and onion pie, ‘lux pub lunch’ is how I would describe it! It is also dog friendly, so you don’t have to leave your dog behind!
  • Lytham Kitchen 9 Market Street - Looking for lunch? Toasties, BIG sandwiches and wraps, twist on a simple lunch!
  • Elvin Street Food 73 Clifton Street – Plant-based and yummy healthy twist to food, you have vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options for breakfast, lunch or even just a snack!
  • Bubble Lowe 1S Westby Street – Serving bubble tea! You have got to try their lychee green tea on a hot day! That will have you refreshed in seconds.
